Slags are artificial silicates. Slag melt consists of the following elements: silicon, iron, calcium, manganese, sulfur and their oxides. As a result of the technological process, the melt takes a granite form or becomes volcanic pumice.
These processes directly depend on the ratio of the contained oxides and the rate of normalization of the temperature regime required for correct functioning.
The density of the slag varies from 800 kg/m3 to 3200 kg/m3, and the specific gravity is calculated in the range from 2.5 g/cm3 to 3.6 g/cm3.
The advantage of slag is the ability to quickly absorb water and also quickly return it.
